Enzo is a loving 4&1/2 year old male dog, 80#, neutered, micro chipped and of course house trained and up to date on his shots. He knows sit, shake, lie down and wait. His current family likes to think of him as a Chowberman Shepherd. We'll let you figure that one out..
To look at this magnificent dog now, you would never guess his current family adopted him from the pound as a teeny puppy. The pound sent him to his new home accompanied by a little present, parvo. He survived to turn in to the marvelous expressive animal he is today.
Enzo enjoys the outside but is an inside dog very much liking to sleep next to his mom and dad's bed. Enzo does not get on the furniture or chew things. He is an excellent watch dog. Although he can look intimidating, if he knows you or realizes that you are allowed to be there, Enzo is immediately friendly.
Enzo's favorite thing to do is play Frisbee. He mostly fetches but occasionally catches a long throw. He also loves walks and belly rubs. He is used to quite a lot of attention and needs a fair amount of exercise. At his current home he has an acre to play in and does a pretty good job of exercising himself given the space. When he is outside he is constantly patrolling the yard but has never attempted to get out. He's attached to his current mom and dad but unfortunately has recently acquired a brand new human infant sibling of whom he is not as fond.
Enzo's family loves him very much but there was a recent misunderstanding between the baby and Enzo. The baby crawled under the table while Enzo was sleeping there and Enzo lashed out at the baby putting a scare in the family. They are heartbroken to part with him. However, they have made the hard but honorable decision that it is not fair to this great dog to keep him separate from the baby and restrict his presence in their life. They want to find him a loving new home where they can stay in touch with him and know he is loved.
Enzo gets a little anxious and car sick in the car so he may need some work in that area. Feeding him in the car, feeding him a treat or two every time you practice putting him in the car, letting him ride in the front seat with the window down a bit, and taking him for short little trips while telling him what a great boy he is may fix that. Not everyone can be perfect!
Enzo doesn't mind being brushed and groomed, although he is not particularly fond of the bath (but gets them regularly). His soft, short fur doesn't shed a lot.
Enzo will not be adopted out to a family with small children. Children must be at least 12 years old and respectful of a dog's space. Enzo will be best with a nondominant female companion. He's never been around cats so, to be safe, should not be around them.
After you see the photos of this handsome friendly boy contact us to make arrangements to meet him.
