Pepper - Adopted!
Email Karon at kcely@msn.com or call (505)281-0330 for more information about Pepper.
PEPPER is a bright extremely vivacious young lady and a little beauty that will win your heart. This energetic little terrier/pointer spirit was probably born in 2009. She loves everyone and adores kids. She is seldom found without some sort of toy in her mouth and lives for chasing the ball or a toy. In the house she is quiet and well behaved. She can stay by herself with no problem. When you are home, she will curl up in a ball at your feet or snuggle with you in a chair or on the couch. But once outside she is bursting to go go go. If you are someone who loves being active in the outdoors and wants a doggie companion at your side (on leash please), please come meet this adorable girl.
Pepper wants to play vigorously for at least an hour a day or hike, bike, go jogging, rollerblading, or partake of other fun pastimes to burn off her energy. She loves tummy rubs and will stay upside down for hours if you oblige. She does tend to dig when bored and will bark at passing dogs. She is selective with her doggy friends. She likes big gentle dogs best but she does take to some little dogs. She does not like dogs that are too forward or bossy. She can be a little snippy during first intros with other canines so relationships with other dogs must be nurtured carefully. Dog parks are probably not in her future, but hours of play with her favorite children might be. Pepper is not good with cats.
As of late February 2016, Pepper has started in school to learn new games, new skills, and the competitive sport of treiball and nosework. She will more than likely progress to agility training by summer. She is learning quickly and if the right adoptor comes along they would be welcome to be her handler in her classes. It is a mystery to her foster why no one has fallen in love with this little sweetie. This is one cute little girl. If you wait too long, this one is going to slip away because she will be not only a cutie, but a very obedient, well trained cutie, and she will be snapped up by someone else (possibly her foster mom?). Because of how special this little girl is, you also will have to be a very special adoptor wanting to continue her training.
