Sandy - Adopted!
Sandy
Sandy is a 2-3 year old toy poodle shih tzu mix, tan in color and has a medium length coat that is a mixture of course and soft fur. She weighs about 13lbs and is micro-chipped. Sandy came to us from the Carlsbad Shelter and was an owner surrender due to a move out of state. She has her spay appointment Jan 4 and will be ready for adoption Jan 5. Sandy is kennel trained and house trained.
Sandy is affectionate, fun-loving, and sweet. She loves to play fetch both in the house and outside. Sandy plays well with her resident dogs and at the dog park, although passing cars can get her attention and she runs along the fence to chase them until she can be redirected to play. Sandy walks well on harness and leash and loves to sniff and explore. She gets along well with other dogs, but she also loves to be held and cuddled. Sandy rides well in the car, she is very calm and sits or lays down while on the move. She is smart and follows commands well – learning to stay, go outside, and “go to bed” in her kennel in just two days!
Sandy is being fostered in a home with multiple pets, she gets along well with resident dogs, is curious about the resident cats and sometimes chases them, but is not aggressive or preoccupied by them. Sandy does well with children, loves to be picked up and held, petted and played with. She would make a great best friend for just about anyone – she responds well to older adults, young couples, and families at the adoption clinics, and happily greets everyone at the dog park. Sandy is a well adjusted, loving little dog and is waiting patiently for her forever home.
