CARLY is the pretty girl with the big heart wearing the strawberry colored coat. This little Australian Cattle dog found herself impounded in Valencia County and was noted as being 2 years of age. That was in 2014 and would put her birth year in 2012. She may be a year or so older than estimated. Carly’s role in life is to be your utterly devoted attached-at-the-hip companion. Carley is a serious girl with eyes only for her person, whom she loves without question. She tolerates other dogs well once she gets to know them but prefers not to have to interact with them much. Careful introductions are necessary and dog parks are not on her to do list. But hiking, going for car or horse rides would be a definite yes. This is a girl that is so eager to please and so naturally obedient that she can go off leash. At her foster home she tends to prefer other female heelers and ignores the rest. Carley’s perfect person is that one special human who yearns for a dog who has eyes only for them. Her special human wants to be with her as much as she wants to be with you because it breaks her heart when you leave her behind. She forgives you though, and waits patiently by the door for you to return. If this kind of adoration is what you’ve been looking for, then look no further. People who are familiar with the breed will recognize her personality as typical heeler. Carly occasionally needs to be reminded to be polite around other dogs and strangers that come in to your house. All it takes is a word and a gentle correction to remind her that you, not she, is in charge.
Carly is a wonderful house dog. She uses the doggie door and, if given a chance, loves to give kisses to her special person and stay very close. She can be protective of her family around strangers. Kids are tolerated but not her favorite thing. Small children not recommended. No cats please.
