Candy is a 3-year-old spayed female. I began life as a kitten rescued from a feral cat colony and was quite feral until this past May when I began my new life at my foster parent’s home. My foster mom has trained me to come to her and be petted (especially if she has a treat in her hand – my favorite is canned tuna), but I really love a home with many other cats. I am not so sure I would thrive in a home with dogs since I have never been around dogs. My ideal home would have other feline companions and be patient since I am just beginning to understand that humans can also make great companions. La Tinta was rescued from the Albuquerque Animal Shelter after all of her kittens had been placed into loving homes. She walks on a leash and will oftentimes be at the adoption clinic sitting a top a cat tree. She gets along well with other cats and dogs. Mr. Darcy (aka Zip) is an adorable ball of black and white "tuxedo" fluff with quite a story. A DLH male kitten born near the end of 8/08, Mr. Darcy (Zip) used up one of his nine lives when he was only 3 weeks old and had to be rescued by the fire department from a tree he'd been stuck in for 3 days. No one involved in the rescue knew where this miracle kitten came from, but he is a very sociable and affectionate kitten who loves to play, especially with other cats. He is in the process of getting used to a pair of German shepherd dogs, but is remarkably fearless. Mr. Darcy will be available for adoption in late November when he is 12 weeks old and has been neutered, however an application for adoption can be done any time before that and you can visit and play with him at the Mercantile Petsmart in the meantime.

Hello, I'm Ophelia, a 5-year-old medium-hair black kitty with huge, gorgeous eyes. I was found nearly entirely paralyzed but I am almost entirely recovered. I love to be picked up and cuddled and especially love sitting on laps. I love attention but I am not obnoxious about it. I am very gentle, and when I play I almost never use my claws. I would be a great addition to a quiet house with a small or very gentle dog, maybe another cat, or older children. I would especially be a great cat for retired people or people who work from home because I would keep you company all day long!

I used to live outside and I sometimes miss it. My foster mom is training me to walk on a leash attatched to a kitty harness. I haven't quite gotten the hang of it, but I'm learning. TomTom, the Feline Ambassador, is a gorgeous 9-year-old neutered male. He is super-soft, buff color with white bib and markings. TomTom is a retired feline ambassador to the Albuquerque Public Schools humane education program who lost his home in October 2004 when his loving caretaker died. Super-loving, playful, outgoing and friendly, good with gentle dogs, must be the only cat due to a chronic health condition that is under control with a special diet and supplements. He has perfect litterbox habits and loves his scratching post. TOM-TOM NEEDS A FOSTER HOME!
