Bailey American Staffordshire Terrier Date: 11/10/2008 For more information, call Bailey's adoption advocate directly Cathy @ 379-7844.

Bailey is a 3-year old, spayed female, fawn-colored American Staffordshire Terrier. Everywhere she goes people stop to remark how stunning she is! She is house-trained, crate-trained and knows basic obedience. Bailey is a dog with a very social personality! She loves, loves, loves humans! If she doesn't wag her tail at someone it's probably a person you don't want to know (she is very perceptive)! She is fantastic with children. She is an easy-keeper asking for your time and attention more than anything. Bailey is a house-dog not a yard-dog and people are her thing! It is a pleasure to walk Bailey because she does not pull and goes in the direction you want to go. She also enjoys car rides alot so take her everywhere with you. She is agile, athletic, and strong. While her stature is very muscular and well-defined, inside she is a sensitive soul who wants everyone to get along. She is a super cuddler and would love to snooze near or with you. Bailey is curious, very smart, and obedient. Her best home is one that has no other dogs. Bailey is a wag-a-second girl and greets people with such love and happiness.

I adore this dog and I think she knows we will help find her the family she is truly fated to be with forever.

(Adoption applications preferred from large-dog experienced people.)
Bear Labrador Retriever mix Date: 10/15/2008 For more information about Bear, directly call Sandy @ 615-2357.

Bear is a neutered male black and white Labrador Retriever mix who is approximately 2 years old. He is a WONDERFUL guy who is housetrained, quiet, good with children, and loving. He enjoys long walks and just being around his human! He does seem to prefer the lady-dogs over the guy ones. Bear is lovey-dovey!
Bob Labradoodle Date: 09/02/2008 Bob is a one and a half year old male, Labradoodle. Bob's a sweet, rather shy guy. He is playful but gentle. He plays well with his foster's other dogs and is fine with their horses too. Bob gets along great with children! Bob is smart and is doing good with learning the 'down' instruction. Bob will make a wonderful companion and is looking forward to a life filled with love to replace his past that was filled with inattention and uncertainty. Come meet Bob!
Caroline Miniature Poodle Date: 10/14/2008 Hi, my name is Caroline. I'm a 5-year old Miniature Poodle and my past life wasn't so great. I was stuck in a kennel at a breeding facility. I had very little human contact and was only let out once a day. A couple months ago some people came and rescued me and my life is getting better everyday. I have learned that I LOVE humans! My favorite pastime is giving kisses and I love getting attention. I make sure to keep a close eye on my foster mom. I like to keep her company. I get a little nervous around small children, so I prefer to be with adults. I love all other dogs as long as they are very nice to me; however, I don't have much interest in playing with them. I don't know about cats, but I am sure if they are nice, we would be okay. I am fully potty trained and would never mess with anything in the house. I just like to nap on the couch while my humans are away. With some training, I could learn lots of cool tricks because I am very smart. I do hope I will find my forever home soon. I sure don't like to be left alone for long periods of time - it reminds me of the old (bad) days. It may take me a while to get used to a new home because I am so shy, but if you are patient, I will make the perfect pet. I just need a quiet home with someone whos has a lot of love to give... because I have alot to give too!
Choco Border Collie mix Date: 11/05/2008 For information about Choco, directly contact foster mom, Karon at 281-0330 (evenings only).

Chocolate is a shy smooth coated border collie cross about one year old. We've had this guy since he was a 6-week old puppy and he has an interesting rescue story. Be sure to ask us about it. We can not understand why no one ever looks at Chocolate. He is the sweetest, dearest young boy, a year and a half old. Perhaps it is because he is shy and not particularly brightly colored. He has matured in to an exceptionally handsome fellow with beautiful caramel colored points. This guy is gently affectionate and a favorite of us all. He is well behaved, almost through his puppy chewing stage. He is quiet in the house, and can be appropriately active outdoors. He would make a great house dog. He takes a while to warm up to you, but when he does, he calmly and devotely attaches and offers his steady unshowy love. Because he is timid, he is not needy or demanding as some that are more demonstrative. He wants nothing more than to curl up on the bed, the rug and be there while you read nearby or do house chores. He is a wonderful companion and might appeal to the more quiet person with a similar shy personality. He would be happiest with another dog to love on and sleep with, one that will also be affectionate with him. He can keep up with the active ones, but be mellow with the old ones, so he is a perfect big brother. OK with cats but can still occasionally chase them. Needs a calm stable home in order to thrive, one that accepts him for who he is and doesn't require a dog to be an extrovert.
Cotton Border Collie mix Date: 11/02/2008 For more information about Cotton, directly call Karon @ 281-0330 (evenings only).

Cotton is a special needs spayed female dog who is five-years old and weighs 45 pounds. Cotton's first 4-5 years on this earth have not been the best. This sweet border collie cross desperately wants that to change. She was kept isolated in a small space on a chain without interaction much of her life and she developed a compensating behavior of going in frantic circles even when free. She is currently being treated for her dysfunction with alprazolam/zanax and a doggie prozac equivalent, but even when better (and she is improving) will need a special family. She will need a doggie companion with whom to interract, and human parents who are home more often than not and who will keep her in the house as much as possible. In the house she is normal, but outside she is likely to resume her frantic ways. Cotton is extremely affectionate, housebroken and well behaved in the house. She has adorable freckled socks. Want someone to hike and jog with? This is your girl!
Dancer Pug Date: 05/29/2008 Dancer says ADOPT ME please and I will dance for you!

Dancer is a spayed, female Pug who is approximately 7 years old. She is smart, dignified, and caring. She likes nice leisurely walks, and snuggling on the couch together! Dancer is very good-humored and pleasant, but she prefers things to be relaxed and unstressful. Dancer is looking for a family with older children or ideally to be a pet for a retired couple who have had dogs before. She loves a quient and calm environment.
Jesse James German Shepherd mix Date: 09/01/2008 Jesse James is a neutered male German Shepherd mix. He is approximately 4 months old. Come meet Jesse James and see if you and your family are a match - he's anxious to "go home!"
Jon Jon Labrador Retriever-Hound mix Date: 08/12/2008 JonJon (JJ) is a very sweet 3-year old, 50 pound Lab/Hound mix, neutered male. He is a great house dog with excellent house manners. He is eager to please, well behaved, house and crate-trained. He knows how to sit, come, lay down and ‘wait’. JJ is wonderful and gentle with children of all ages, especially with small children 3 years old or older. He is in excellent physical condition and should have daily exercise. He loves playing fetch, chasing and catching balls, retrieving Frisbees, and playing tug of war with you, or with another dog. He gets along well with non-aggressive dogs. He would love an active dog companion, but would also be gentle and considerate with an older dog. He is not recommended for a home with cats. JJ is a Special Needs dog. His condition is analogous to OCD in humans. He sometimes feels compelled to chase moving objects such as small animals, cars, bikes, and birds. This tendency is aggravated by stress, and may cause him to become frustrated and excited. He is currently receiving medication but there is a good chance it could be discontinued once he felt secure in a permanent loving home. JJ desperately needs someone special with a big heart to love him, patience to understand him, and commitment to care for him for the rest of his life. He will repay you with a love that is beyond words.
Maya American Staffordshire Terrier Date: 11/18/2008 Contact Jeanette directly @ 281-9719 for more information on Maya.

Maya is a beautiful, female, approximately, 1-year old American Staffordshire Terrier. She is playful, house-trained and a lot of fun. She bonds with people easily and is very loyal. She can be walked off leash and stays right by her human buddy. I have introduced her to many dogs and all she wants to do is play. Also, she has spent the day with young children (5 and 7 years old), and was as sweet as could be. One of the children was walking around with a peanut butter sandwich, and Maya didn't touch it. She has learned to be alone in the backyard for periods of time, and she is very good. No digging or jumping. It would be great if she could be in a home with other dogs, but no cats. She enjoys chasing them, hence it could be problematic.
Piper Whippet mix Date: 11/05/2008 Please directly contact foster mom, Karon for additional information on Piper @ 281-0330 (evenings only)

Piper is a young neutered male, maybe two years old, probably a Whippet and Border Collie cross. He has the very affectionate, devoted and gentle way of the Whippet and is calm and well behaved in the house. Piper doesn't need alot of space. Whippets and getting on furniture go together so if you take this dog, accept graciously having to share the couch and bed. They are also very good "counter surfers" (gently get their paws up on kitchen counter and surf it for food). This wonderfully sweet sensitive soul was saved from the Burns Flat, Oklahoma pound with a letter campaign. As a little skinny scared fellow, he was shipped to a sanctuary in New Mexico where he was turned over to his current foster mom and placed in our program. This dog will want a doggie companion. Whippets don't do well alone. Piper is quiet, and gets along well with other dogs and all people. He can be scared by big or dominant dogs. Piper has the shape of a heart on his chest, a wonderful marking that indicates the loving nature of this boy. The breed cross of the dog will mean that he is quick to race off, they are bred to run, so good fencing is a must. No off leash in open areas. May not be reliable with cats or other small animals.
Taz Australian Kelpie Date: 03/24/2008 For more information about Taz, directly call Karon @ 281-0330 (evenings only).

Taz is approximately one and half years old. Taz is a dog for aussie dog personality lovers. Quick moving, bright, active, and utterly devoted...until she sees a horse, or bunny...then she's off to do her herding thing. She can wait patiently and quietly all day for her person to come home, but once you've arrived, you'll need to share your attention with her and take her out to play. Although Taz is an active young dog she also has a cuddly, insistently affectionate personality, and loves to get in your lap for TV or movies. If you have ever been interested in having a dog with which to learn the canine sport of agility, this dog is made for that. She's highly intelligent, responsive and athletic. She has a little wanderlust and can go over 5 foot fences, so will need a very secure yard. She is great with other dogs and Ok with cats. She can play roughly with other dogs and so...if she has a doggie roommate, he or she will need to set the rules or be willing to play actively. If you are not home during the week, this intelligent animal will get bored, so she will need a companion. A calm dog might be good to reinforce Taz's mellow side.
