Dante (black) and Diego (yellow) are gorgeous 1 ½ year old Labrador brothers. A year ago they were found as young 6 month old pups roaming the west mesa. No one claimed them and they were adopted together shortly after that. However, lifestyle changes in their new owner’s life has caused them to be returned to us. These boys can go separately or together. Dante/Diego have true lab natures. They are adoring, outgoing, exuberant, plus they mind obediently when given commands (they have been through basic obedience training!!!). They have those intelligent attentive adoring soulful Labrador eyes and those very waggy Labrador tails that swoop everything off the coffee table. These guys have the Labrador zest for life and need an outlet for their energy. They could happily hike all day, train for search and rescue, do advanced obedience or be jogging companions. Previous owner was taking them bicycling in the hills on weekends. The pups stayed with him well off leash unless they saw another dog and then they would race off to play. So, they need some work on recall. They are now about 80# each and need to be put on a diet to come down to about 70 #. These dogs are well started, with no behavior issues, and are house and crate trained. Dante (black) is the more forward of the brothers and more of the leader. Diego (yellow) is a slightly gentler version and a follower. Fee is negotiable if adopted together. Never have lived with cats. Labs can usually be trained to be good with cats, but no guarantees. Need owners who are experienced with Labs or other high energy breeds and who are willing to continue enforcing the existing training and provide plenty of exercise, a cozy fire and a soft rug in front of it to curl up on at night.
