Gavin - Adopted!
Gavin is a bundle of gentleness, sensitivity, love and playfulness - this boy is just the happiest little friend a person could want - his light tan, heart shaped mask suits his loving personality and his bright black eyes always look for someone to cuddle him, rub his ears (which rest flat against his head when relaxed), harness him up for a walk, or play tug with him in a warm sunny spot
He'd love a canine pal - he will need to be adopted with Tammy, who is also on this website. They currently live together; they play, eat, and sleep together and clean each others eyes and ears - a dynamic duo. The two of them need to stay together! The two of them will run wildly around the yard - grass is a favorite, help dig a hole in the soft earth, share a chase to capture a ball or chew bone, or just snuggle with under the blanket at night to take a well earned rest after a day well spent with doggie games
Gavin is house trained if he has a doggie door
Gavin has his puppy ways which means he will chew on odd items, but will immediately turn to a chew toy if one is given to him - he is ready to please and just needs someone to give him consistent instruction to refine his manners.
Snuggling on the couch or a lap is a favorite passtime and he is willing to settle immediately if he has either option - no problem with going to bed at night after a long day as long as he had a blanket to snuggle under (although he would prefer to sleep close to you under the covers) and he does not object if you need him to stay in a crate while you are at the grocery store.
He is a good car passenger and will sit in his harness attached to the seat belt in the back seat until you take the end of his leash and ask him to come for a walk - this is happiness making for him . He has been introduced to cats several times and it appears that they just aren’t a match for him. He’d rather stay with canine companions, including Tammy.
Gavin’s forever home should include adequate playtime and together time with his family and a canine companion who is compatible with is size and energy
he would be good with children over 8 years old who are gentle and loving, and would treat him kindly and without teasing - they should be able to participate in his companion training and encourage him to play games and go on walks. He has demonstrated that he is somewhat of an escape artist and can scale kiddy gates with ease, so his forever home must be free of all avenues of escape for him.
Gavin will reward you with love in abundance and will greet you with heartfelt joy when you arrive home - he is a great little dog with a big heart - watch the cares of the day melt away and your blood pressure plummet! And if you are an 8 year old student you will get right on that homework so that you will be able to enjoy playtime with him
Gavin is The Man!
