Chucky is a neutered, male Corgi-Border Collie mix. He's just under 1 1/2 years old. Chucky was surrendered to the Animal Care Center because his owners were moving and didn't want to take him. It is very much their loss! It is amazing that they could give up this sweet little guy. New Mexico Animal Friends brought him under their Program because he was so frightened that he wouldn't come to the front of his cage, and kept hiding. That behavior would have made it harder for him to find a home. Chucky seems to be recovering nicely from his trauma of being surrendered by his family and caged at the shelter; he is making friends at his foster home. Chucky can be a little timid at first until he feels safe. He is good with little children and other dogs, and has already shown that he can be very playful. He's a very sweet little guy and initial readings indicate that he is pretty true to the Corgi temperament of intelligence, loyalty and friendliness. He seems to have some minor abnormality of the right front leg long bones, but as near as we can tell it doesn't bother him or hamper him. It just makes him all the more endearing.
