Kanika - Adopted!
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is a courtesy listing only and is neither connected to nor being offered for adoption through NMAF.
Kanika is about 3 years old and is a Pet of the Week at the Albuquerque eastside animal shelter (A1609695). She's a lovely little girl, who hasn't been treated well by the humans in her life. She's painfully shy, but warms up within minutes and asks/begs to be petted. She shouldn't be with other dogs or children simply because loud noises scare her, and she really needs a calm, patient person to help her be the best she can be. She has the potential to be either a couch potato or an agility star, and will certainly be someone's best friend forever! Her leash training has been sporadic, so she pulls at first, but a halter might help, and she wants to be loved so badly that while in the car she tends to crowd you, and definitely needs a seat belt! Kanika appears to be housetrained, and is interested in squeaky toys, but hasn't a clue how to play with them. All Kanika needs is LOVE, and she will blossom! They call her a Shetland Sheepdog x, but Albuquerque's Dog Mom believes that she could actually be a Doxie/Spaniel X. Whatever she is, her beautiful brown eyes are just full of love and devotion for the right human! Please contact abqdogmom@msn.com for more information about this little girl.
Thanks to Joyce Fay for these wonderful pictures of Ginger!
