Newt - Adopted!
Want to meet a couple of love bugs? These two extraordinary pups are looking for their forever homes! Overcoming the odds and ready for a new adventure, Lulu and Newt are ready to rumble! These two sweeties are Heeler mixes who will grow to be small to medium sized dogs, and we think they are 10 weeks old as of 11/16/11. DOB is right around 9/14/2011.
Lulu, the little girl, is a little spitfire and she is afraid of nothing! She is adorable with her wonderful white coat, her two ringed eyes and her dark lipstick smear on one side of her mouth (she is a tomboy and will not admit to lipstick!). We call it her Mardi Gras mask! She is the first to try anything and is one smart little girl, albeit quite a silly one. Ready to jump and play at any time, Lulu also likes to take a few moments for cuddle time. She is the instigator and will try to entice anyone to play a game with her – two or four legged!
Newt is the smaller of the two and his beautiful wrinkled forehead just begs for cuddles and love. He is a sweetheart that is learning the joys of being held close. Lulu loves to instigate all the romping and playing, but Newt certainly gets the last laugh! Newt is a fearless warrior, ready to bring down squeaky toys in a single pounce. He is just not obvious about it (little thinker that he is). This little dream boy will make a remarkable friend to a lucky someone.
Lulu and Newt are lucky to be alive. These adorable little pups were found deserted on the mesa along with two siblings and their mom and dad, all in very poor health. A Good Samaritan was able to catch three of the puppies but one has since passed, even with the many efforts to save him (RIP little man). The fourth puppy has disappeared and we fear the worst. Mom and dad do not trust humans and it has proven pointless to try and capture them, though we continue to do what we can. We suspect the entire family was dumped by idiot people to fend for themselves.
With the sad comes the happy. Lulu and Newt are safe and thriving, have forgotten that they were dumped and are now healthy little bundles of joy! Along with their cutie-pie genes, they inherited a will to survive and have overcome great odds. They have forgotten their pasts and are looking forward to having a family of their own!
Lulu and Newt are receiving love, great veterinary care, good food, and their shots on schedule, have been wormed and are well on their way to being healthy little puppies! They are healthy and raring to go.
