Pearl - Adopted!

PEARL - my name says it all - I am a Miniature Schnauzer, about 4 years old - boy was I lucky to have survived - I was a breeder in a Puppy Mill - I was trying to give birth to my puppies but I couldn’t and they died - I was sent to a Vet to be killed because my owner would not pay for a C-section to save my life - a kind lady took me and found my foster mom who paid for the surgery and Here I Am!! - a Pearl for sure!

I love being out of a cage most of the day and I get to choose how to spend my time - I have found a warm, soft place on the couch where I love to sit and watch the world go by - sometimes though I run outside with my dog friends and then we race back inside just to check that our foster mom is still there - I get lots of ear rubs and tummy tickles and I love those - but best of all I love to sit on a soft lap for cuddles - I have learned to go outside to potty and my foster mom tells me how good I am to do that, so I will always try to remember, just to please her - I’m not so happy when I have to go for a walk - the leash on my collar scares me - I think I can do it though, especially when my foster dad says I can go out with him if I walk along nicely - there are good smells out there and I would like to meet the guys who own them - maybe they would be good playmates for me
- I love the bundle of puppies at my house, although boy they run a lot and I have to hustle to keep up - it’s good fun though running around in the garden - I don’t bark too much, but I know how to, and I sometimes have to let my mom know that there are people at our door - she always says “thank you Pearl”

I love my foster mom and dad, but I want a home with a family to love and who will love me and teach me the stuff I didn’t get to learn at the Puppy Mill - i’d also like to have a dog friend at my new home since I can now enjoy running and playing and i’ve discovered that I like dogs a lot - i’ve met some kids and they have been nice to me, but I think that I would like large kids - they would know that I am still a bit scared of some things and need help to feel safe - I will work on feeling safe, but it’s tough and I want my new family to be patient and kind, and show me how to behave like a good dog companion
- I will try so hard to learn and to please you - I already know how to give doggie kisses and nose licks - I think I’m doing pretty well already, but with a little understanding, patience, and lots of love I know I will shine - after all I’m a Pearl!
