Roopert - Adopted!
Roopert is a playful and happy 3-4 year old, neutered male, Border Terrier mix. He has medium length fur that is cream and white and he is a small dog weighing about 8-12 lbs.
Roopert got his name from his ability to jump straight up from a standing position like a kangaroo and he jumps high enough to be caught in midair. He is outgoing, friendly, social, and affectionate. He loves all people, including kids, he engages in play with other dogs, and is curious about house cats, but not aggressive. Roopert loves to run and play with plush toys especially if you are there to tug and toss them with him. He does play by himself and would love to play with a companion, but the three dogs in his foster home are in their senior years and tend to dismiss Roopert’s playful attempts.
Roopert sleeps in a large kennel shared with his 11yr old mini-schnauzer sister. In the mornings after going outside Roopert joins the family in bed with all his companions for snuggles. During the daytime he is both inside and outside spending time with his foster Dad and the other dogs. He is content to sit on your lap or up on the back of the couch so he has a good view of household activities and can join in the fun.
Roopert appears to be house trained, he walks well on a leash, and rides well in the car. Because Roopert can jump rather high his yard should have a 5 ft fence.
Roopert needs a loving family who will give him all of the love and attention he deserves. He will need plenty of daily exercise and playtime. He would love to have another playful canine companion and to continue sharing your bed and couch.
