Sir Ollyfur Binkaus loves being the center of his lady love’s attention. He will curl up with her on the couch and will stay by her side while she’s working on the computer. He’s an affectionate feline. Binky purrs into her ear melodiously when he’s stroked and brushed, his fur soft and sleek!

But he’s not only a lover. He is agile and frisky despite his 17 years. His shiny white teeth have become permanently etched from rubbing his whiskers on just about everything when he is happy! He is in some ways a dignified gentleman — he will not jump over fences, jump through stairway rungs, or leap onto counters. So what is Binky’s idea of fun? Madly dashing after his swirling Feline Flyer toy, or perching elegantly on his cat tree, gazing out the window. His favorite afternoon pastime — napping in his bed in the corner of the room, pretending that he’s invisible…

Binky lived peaceably with another cat for many years and he can also learn to trust a gentle dog. He is slow to trust people but will welcome his human with joy once he has had a sufficient time to get properly acquainted.

Binky has been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome and early-stage kidney disease, a common condition for his age. He’s doing extremely well with a low-stress home life, an excellent diet, and .5 cc of prednisolone once a day. He is eager to live out the rest of his 9 lives with his lady love! Could that be you?

You can also visit them on Saturdays at the NM Animal Friends Adoption Event at Petsmart. Adoptions are held from 11:00am until 4:00pm at Petsmart at 8070 Academy Rd. NE, on the corner of Wyoming and Academy.

Home visits are required for all adoptions. Special arrangements for adopters outside of the Albuquerque and Santa Fe area must be made in advance. If you live outside of the Albuquerque and Santa Fe area, please call Jeri at (505)350-7463 or e-mail Vicki at vicki@nmaf.org to see if an out-of-town home visit is possible before traveling to Albuquerque to attend an adoption clinic.
