Reporter: Hey, Keesha, what’s up? How do you like your digs here at PetSmart?
Keesha: Well, I find it pretty monotonous around here. Really, it’s amazing what I must put up with simply to find a home. For now I’m stuck in this cage — bo-ring. I just hope one of these days all this unpleasantness will be worth it, and somebody really nice will take me home!
Reporter: What kind of home are you looking for?
Keesha: I’d really like a home where I could be the Queen every single day… I like feeling that I’m in charge of things, you know. Like to be first at the food dishes, first in playtime, first in everyone’s heart (purr, purr, purr). A home where I can live a life of luxury — sitting on laps, romping around the house, and watching television with my humans, playing with them and my Feline Flyer… You know, all those little everyday things that make up a good cat life.
Reporter: How long do you expect it will take you to settle into a new home?
Keesha: Last time I moved, it took me a good three or four days to settle in. Oh, at first it was scary, and I hissed a lot because I didn’t know why I was there. And the room was a mess! I got used to it though, and kind of like the place now that I’ve taken charge of things. I enjoy lounging around on the iMac computer keyboard while Jeri tries to work, pushing her arm so she will pet me instead of typing, squishing up the papers she throws around on the floor, and then finally when she loses interest in her work, dashing around the room chasing the Feline Flyer for her! She’s a pretty good playmate most of the time and gives me good hugs and strokes, too.
Reporter: Have you ever had any trouble getting along with other cats or dogs in your home?
Keesha: No, I’ve had no dog problems. Pepe was smaller than I, so I didn’t consider him a threat. In fact, he and I used to play together sometimes. My sis’ Kyra and I play, eat, and hang out together just fine. But when we were around other cats, I always felt that I needed to protect my little sister. You know how cats can be so… well, catty! (purr, purr, purr)
