Nevaeh - Adopted!
This is Nevaeh (neh-vA-ah). It is Heaven spelled backward. It is appropriate as her first little bit of life was anything but heaven until she came to NMAF. Now she is looking for her "heaven on earth" home.
Her owner had put a rubber band on her tail. It was around bone and too close to the body so when we got her it was dangling and painful. We quickly got her to the vet and the stub had to be surgically repaired and the piece of bone hanging out removed. She was only 4.7 pounds.
We guess she was born around Jan 17 as she appeared 8 weeks old when we got her. They said she was a cross between a Schnauzer and something but she looks mostly Schnauzer.
Feisty and friendly from the get go, Nevaeh is little ball of sweetness. She was playing with the other foster puppy and happy the rubber band was gone. She clawed her way up the bedspread to the top of the bed and declared it off limits to anyone but her favorite friends. She is vocal and persistent to get on a lap. She already "goes" outside if taken every hour. She gobbles her puppy food like nobody's business.
Being so young, she will need some time to recoup from the tail surgery before her spay. She can be fostered until she is spayed and then owned. She will need basic puppy training. She would like a friend her size to play with. Children need to be mature as she is so small. A house with a yard and doggie door would be pluses...
