Meet the Toby! He is one handsome dude! And very intelligent!

Toby was born around Oct 2014. He came with parti poodle colors of black and white. He is probably a cross with something that has shorter legs and a longer body. He will need regular grooming to keep his locks handsome and clean. He weighs around 18 pounds so is a little big for small laps.

Toby was found as a stray in Carlsbad. He came with a huge splinter in his foot requiring immediate surgery and antibiotics. But even with his sore foot, he was a happy, friendly little canine from the first day. He had to have most of his hair removed and is awaiting regrowth to be trimmed to a pretty outline.

He rides in the car well and knows a doggie door. He knows how to play with his fellow fosters and will probably need an active household and/or a canine friend to help him be busy and not bored. But since he hasn't had much training, a good basic course would be nice. He is so smart, he probably could be taught many tricks and be quite obedient. He is good with kids. He will need a back yard to romp and play or regular trips to a dog park to expend his energy. He likes people of all ages...
