Annie - Adopted!
Annie is a gentle Greyhound cross with a sensitive disposition. She has a beautiful brindle and brown coat, tall inquisitive ears and an expression that can go a little shell-shocked when she is feeling uncertain. Petite for a Greyhound, she is a little over two years old, spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. She was given up for adoption after two years with a family in Los Lunas NM because she was "low dog on the totem pole" and was bullied by the other dogs. (Oh, worry! Even their Dachshund picked on her!) She can be shivery and nervous about new situations but with a steady hand can settle down and enjoy herself. In fact, she likes to cuddle and she likes to put her head in a lap for a good scratch and a "head hug." She likes the security of a shorter leash so she doesn't get overwhelmed by too much world all at once. And, by the way, she walks like a dream on the leash. She will need some TLC adjusting to a new home because of her worry wart disposition, but NM Animal Friends will be glad to help her and her new family get acquainted so the transition can be successful. She will need a tall fence, as she is a leggy girl and can jump fences up to 5 feet if she gets panicky, but when she is secure, she doesn't want to jump or wander at all. She's not a party animal, more the "dinner with friends" type, so a quiet home would probably be best for her. She needs a foster home or, much better yet, a home to call her own.
