Bailey is a 4-year old neutered male English Mastiff-Chow Chow mix. He is an extra large dog at 125 pounds and a pure "teddy bear" who is extremely affectionate and will drown you in kisses!! Bailey's breed mixes lend him to being naturally protective and loyal to his family--he displays an initial appropriate defensive stance around strangers, but with acquaintances he is very friendly and affectionate.
Bailey's foster has observed that he can enjoy playing with non-dominant, but not timid, medium-size dogs. However he has demonstrated spotty, but significant aggression when around large dogs (male and female). Cats, small, and timid dogs are not recommended as companions. If you are not experienced in dog-to-dog behavior management, it would be best that he is the only dog.
Bailey is a couch potato and prefers to be in the house (and we prefer he go to a family that will ensure that he is). He is well-behaved in the house, doesn't touch a thing, and can use a doggy door. He loves to sleep on a bed but will use the floor if told.
Bailey has a calm and jovial temperment and daily long, leisurely walks are recommended to keep this couch potato from putting on weight. It is EASY EASY to fall in love with this big guy! Bailey needs a family or person without small children (his size is daunting) and an experienced large-breed dog owner.
