The longing look in his eyes will melt your heart - he is just waiting to show his true colors - still shy and retiring, but comes to his name and sits waiting to be loved - he will allow you to cuddle him in a quiet place but will often startle and run to is crate if things get rowdy - he will jump up beside you on the couch, lie down for a rub and will lick your hand - each day he tries harder to fit into the pack of dogs and watches the game playing to see what the rules are - sometimes he tries to engage, but is mostly out of his league because he lacks confidence - he is house trained and sometimes marks - his competence on the leash is growing, but he startles/scares easily, so needs encouragement to be a good walker - his crate is his safety blanket and he will go there any time you ask him - his bark is reserved to alert, but he sometimes chimes in when the other dogs encourage him - Simon would love a home with patient, caring and encouraging adults who would give him lots of time and loving attention - he will flourish in this situation and will reward you mightily as he learns that he is in a safe place and free to show you the depth of his personality and his gentle nature - this boy is worth the "two cents".
