Chiquita - Adopted!

Chiquita (Chica for short) is 1.5 year old, spayed female, purebred Standard Dachshund. Standard dachshunds are a larger size, usually 16-32 pounds. She has short dark brown fur (with a light, brindle hue) that requires nothing more than a bath every one to two months.

Chica is very sweet and loving, as well as, active and playful. She loves to run and play with other dogs. She is even getting along with the calmer resident cats in her foster home. She likes to sit with her foster mom on the couch but, she would love it even more if you sat on the floor with her. She can’t jump onto the bed but, when placed on it she will lay there comfortably and fall asleep as you rub and pet her head and neck.

She can be shy around new people. Being with the other friendly dogs in her foster home, and the continued interaction and socialization, she has really come out of her shell. She is letting her foster mom come up to her, pet her, give her treats and even give her hugs and kisses.

Chica will require a home with very respectful or older children and at least one other playful canine companion. She will also need continued socialization and training. She is house trained and walks pretty well on a leash, when she isn’t so nervous.

She is very healthy and is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all of her shots.
