Rowley - Adopted!
Do you admire a little creature who has clearly been through very hard times, but who has come through with a strong spirit and a cheerful heart? If so, Rowley is the dog for you. He was found very badly wounded and had to have his right eye removed and some deep puncture wounds on his neck stitched up. So you think he'd be timid, right? He's not; he seems to know he's been safe now. He's a very happy boy - always wagging his tail, follows his foster mom around the house and settles quietly wherever she does, loves to be patted and held. He also lives with a young child (who knows to be gentle with dogs) and has shown no fear of her. No food aggression when the people lifted his bowl away. He lives with other dogs with no problems. He seems to be an even mix of West Highland White Terrier, with a Westie's pure white coat, and Chinese Powderpuff, with speckles underneath. He has some Westie mannerisms, like raising one front paw when he's thinking and tilting his head when you talk to him. He sleeps through the night and we have yet to hear him bark, though he whimpers when he has to go out. He manages the stairs and uses the dog door. He's a very endearing little boy, and we continue to learn more about him.
