Cody - Adopted!
Cody is a miniature poodle, either four or five years old. He is the color of cinnamon and has a sweet, sunny disposition.
He has had one owner who adopted and named him at about eight weeks old. He was in a family of three other dogs and always needed a little more attention and love than he was getting. When his owner took a traveling job she felt she could no longer care for him and she surrendered him directly to the rescue group.
Cody has been in a foster home within a small pack of miniature poodles since August. He has been accepted by the other dogs but still needs a lot of individual assurance and attention. He has a stuffed animal named Baby which he carries around all day, which seems to help soothe him. He knows how to use a doggie door and he likes to play fetch. He is also naturally gifted with the ability to walk on his hind legs and stand up for a kiss or a hug. He can be a bit protective of his person, but is also easily redirected. He is so eager to please!
Cody needs quite a bit of work on walking on a leash, but he does enjoy walks. He is also a little bit of a food hound and will need to be on a regular diet with few treats in order to not gain too much weight.
Cody will thrive in a loving environment with a person or couple who has time to spend playing with him and training him. He might be lonely as an only dog unless someone is home all day, but would be fine with another dog of similar temperament in the home.
His foster is Regina at 453 5980.
