Hi! I'm Ellie Mae!

I came to my foster Liz when my human "mother" died recently. It was a sad time for us. Liz rescued both my sister Sally Sue and me and brought us to New Mexico Animal Friends to find a new home.

I was born in 2008 and I’m in excellent health. I have a lovely white medium-long coat with gray tabby patches.

I love to go outside in my “catio” and to do my bird-watching. It’s fun to listen to the sounds of the bugs and birds and enjoy the breezes. My cat tree is an excellent spot for me to take my cat naps, too!

I’m proud to say that I have not had any litter box accidents and that I carefully aim my claws only at my scratching toys and posts, not the furniture!

Liz thinks it is funny that I like to put my furry mouse toy in my water dish. I’m waiting for him to learn how to swim! What fun that will be!

I am sweet and enjoy being in the same room as my human companion. I like to be held, but not for a long time. I'm up to about half a minute now and am hoping for three. I tend to be a little shy at first, but please give me a little time, and I will become your special friend.

I would be happiest being with my sister (who is Top Cat), but I would probably do all right by myself in my new “forever” home.

Special arrangements for adopters outside of the Albuquerque and Santa Fe are must be made in advance. If you live outside of the Albuquerque or Santa Fe area, please call Jeri or e-mail Vicki to see if an out-of-town home visit is possible, before traveling to Albuquerque to attend an adoption clinic.
