Spirit - Adopted

Meet little Spirit, a mellow little girl we think was born around 2014. We think she might be a terrier/shih tzu mix: terrier hair around her face but shih tzu short legs and long tail and body.

Spirit was found in a trap somewhere in Valencia county. How she got there, how long she was in there, what she experienced there, we don't know. But the result was a tightly curled-up bundle of misery, afraid to look at the world.

Fast forward 48 hours: What a difference a warm house, good food and plenty of cuddles can make. Spirit was up walking with a prance in her step and a flap of her ears! Although her comfort zone was limited, it quickly expanded, even learning to climb stairs. Certainly the world offers challenges but Spirit has the spirit to take it on!

She can be leery of strangers but quickly adjusts to people who will treat her with the love and respect she deserves. Drop by clinic on Saturdays to give her some pets and she will probably reward you by licking your hand. Take her home and she will turn into a black bundle of love.

Spirit gets along well in the car, walks well on a leash and loves to cuddle and snuggle. She is one gentle Spirit! At ten pounds or so, she will be a perfect size for a lap. Probably best with adults or older, respectful children. She could do well in an apartment or home.
