Willie - Adopted!
Email Alan at duhondmd@yahoo.com or call (505)294-2790 for more information about Willie.
Willie was born in 2012 we think. He looks like a miniature Aussie or maybe the new miniature American shepherd. At only 15 pounds, he could be put in a pocket! Okay... a big pocket!
His fur is luxuriously soft and fluffy. His eyes are brown and totally engaging! He follows his foster from room to room. Is great with his foster siblings.
Because he probably wasn't with people much during his first four years, he is shy at first. But after 2 days at his foster's house, he was wanting to be petted. Within 4 days he jumped on the foster's lap. Willie will need the standard 2 week settling-in period NMAF offers to feel 100% at home. And then when he does settle, he will reward you with extreme loyalty.
He knows the doggie door and likes to get his leash on because then it's time for a walk. He will thrive with a basic course of training. He loves carrying his toys around. He is a little protective of them from the other dogs but enjoys playing tug-of-war with selected friends. He and one of the other young fosters spent hours wrestling, chasing and exploring.
Willie would do best in an experienced dog-owner's home. Young children might be a bit much for his quiet demeanor. A companion playmate would be great.
