Hi, my name is Kruzzer, a play on words as it sounds like police "cruiser", though I haven't done much cruisin' around yet. I am a really handsome boy I am told who is an owner surrender, just because my owner can no longer take care of me, not because of anything I did. I am a bit shy and a little spooked by loud noises at first but warm up to people once I am comfortable. I don't know for sure, but I may be purebred. I like the company of other dogs and as I am still a puppy, would like to play in the right circumstances. My breed tends to be more loners, but because I am shy, I'd really benefit from another dog who can show me the ropes.
Here are a few facts about my breed: typically not pack dogs and prefer to be independent, although can socialize with other dogs if taught from an early age. The Blue Heeler is an independent, intelligent, and hard-working dog. Due to its sharp and alert mind and high levels of energy, it needs to be engaged in some task and needs to be given a job to do. It is good at obedience training, and hence, it needs mental and physical activity like learning training commands and tricks, going for runs, etc.
This breed is very loyal, obedient, courageous, and affectionate towards its owners. It is naturally cautious by nature towards strangers, making it a very good guard dog. It can also be taught, right from childhood, to socialize with people and children. As it is a herding dog, it has a tendency to nip at the heels of people and herd them, particularly small kids, as they run around a lot.
