Hi. My name is Luka. My owner had me since I was a puppy but couldn't keep me after 3 years, so they took me to the Edgewood Animal Shelter and said Good-Bye. I sat there for 4 months. I didn't like it very much there. I was nervous, and when people would come up to my dog run to look at me, I would shy away and sometimes bark at them.
Then a volunteer at the shelter reached out to the nice folks at New Mexico Animal Friends to see if they could accept me into their program. One of NMAF's volunteers came to meet me and could see right away that I would be much happier and have a much better chance of getting adopted in a rescue group setting rather than the shelter.
I have been sooooo happy since I was freed from jail!! Right now, I am in a foster home with other doggies in NMAF. I love them all, but my best buddies are Grover and Tex. We run and play a lot.
I have learned how much fun it is to be in the car with your face out the window and the wind blowing back your ears.
I really like being with my people. I will sit quietly at your feet or follow you from room to room. I am an excellent companion.
I don't know if you have noticed, but I AM BEAUTIFUL! And I am a sweetheart to boot.
Please come meet me at adoption clinic which is held every Saturday at PetSmart.
