Meet Coco, a sweet Border Terrier mix who came out of the Albuquerque Shelter system. She was brought in as a stray, no chip or tags, unfortunately. She is a lovely little girl, at about 14 pounds and 1 year old, with long slender legs and a long body that give her a very elegant look when she is upright. At 15 inches at her shoulders, she is taller than a typical Border, but it is not clear what she may be mixed with - that is for her new family to figure out! She is a quiet girl, reserved upon first meeting but warms up to affection and attention quickly. She is not overly playful as yet in her new foster home but does well with other dogs. She is sweet and likes to be with her chosen human, staying close by your side. She enjoys cuddles on the couch, is house-trained and learning to sleep in a crate at night. She loves to stretch waaayyy out like a cat - you will be surprised at how long her body is! She has had all her shots, was just spayed on June 14th, microchipped, and heartworm tested, which was negative. She may do best in a quieter home, with perhaps another calm dog for company. She could be a good companion for an active senior that still enjoys walks. She has not been tested for cats as yet. If you are interested in Coco, she can be seen at our Adoption Clinic on Saturdays or contact the person above.
Because home visits are required, NMAF dogs cannot be adopted out of the greater Albuquerque / Santa Fe area.
