Update: Moe, Larry, and Curly are now about 8 weeks old and ready to go to their new homes! They are sturdy, well-adjusted little guys, ready to explore the world (well, at least your backyard!) and continue their socialization with more people and dogs. They can be met outside of PetSmart Adoption Clinic so give their Contact a call!
Everyone knows who The Three Stooges are, right? Well, meet them in puppy form! These 3 roly-poly little guys are HILARIOUS, flopping over each other, gnawing on ears and toes, sleeping completely upside down. They were found being peddled for drug money on a street corner on Central Avenue, dehydrated and looking in great danger. Now safely in foster care, completing treatment for Giardia, they are beginning to thrive and grow and just hitting that really fun puppy stage. Each pup has different markings so we can tell them apart. Moe has 2 brown ears, Larry has an "Easy Button" on top of his head (aka a brown thumb shaped spot), and Curly has one half brown ear. All currently have blue eyes, which we hope will stay. They will be available for adoption in a few weeks but can be met in the meantime and, pending an acceptable home visit to make sure their family has the right environment for a puppy, promised to adoptive homes when they are ready. They will be part of NMAF's Foster-to-Adopt Program, whereby they can go to an adoptive home at 8-9 weeks but will be on foster status until all their medical needs are met, including neuter, microchip and all shots, which NMAF will cover. Ask us about details.
Please note, these puppies will not be adopted together or as pairs and will need a home with another dog who can teach them the ropes or a family that is work-from-home as puppies should not be left alone all day while you work. They will require a lot of socialization with both humans & dogs in the next few months as well as puppy training class and adult obedience class later on. NMAF can provide recommendations. Becoming a "good" adult dog is all about what happens when they are puppies, so if you are up for that, please give us a call to arrange a meeting!
Because home visits are required, NMAF dogs cannot be adopted out of the greater Albuquerque / Santa Fe area.
