Sasha is an adorable little Terrier mix - we are still debating what kind. She was surrendered to the City Shelter when her family said they had to "move". The shelter called her a Fox Terrier X, but there could be some Jack Russell in there as well. Her coat is wirehaired and soft at the same time, white, black and brown in small patches. She is long legged and about 11 pounds though needs to gain some weight to fill out her petite frame. She bonds very quickly to her "person" and prefers females. She can be wary of some men so may do better in a female only household. She would also prefer adults and would do well with an active senior looking for a cute companion. She can live with other small dogs though will need correction from her owner as she becomes protective of "mom" when another dog approaches. This may be the result of being an "only dog" in her former life which lacked doggie socialization. She is already learning this is not allowed in her foster home where there are multiple other dogs. "Mom" has to be shared with all!!! Cats are an unknown at this point. She would be a great candidate for obedience training and even agility as she is very smart and quick and would gain needed socialization as well. She is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and heartworm tested (Neg). She sleeps in a crate and is learning the ins & outs of a dog door and pottying outside. She is waiting for that special someone to come and meet her and fall in love!
Because home visits are required, NMAF dogs cannot be adopted out of the greater Albuquerque / Santa Fe area.
