Bún is an adorable little black & tan mix who is named after Bún Chä in Vietnamese, a special dish of pork & noodles. Bún is the noodle part. Her new foster brother, Leo, named her as he and his family lived in Vietnam for a time. We have to admit it is an unusual name for sure, but unique like she is. This sweet little girl, weighing in at just over 6 pounds, was found wandering as a stray and ended up at the City Shelter. She was terrified and shaking like a leaf the day NMAF found her. Now safely in foster care, she is blossoming a little bit each day. Her foster mom says she is a super gentle girl and just enjoys being close to her people, burrowing under a fuzzy blanket, or laying on a lap getting a belly rub. She loves to go on walks and is good on a leash. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night with a cozy bed and warm blankets. She will let you know she needs to potty while in her crate, which is great. She is learning the ins and outs of using a doggie door but could be fine in an apartment if you take her out every few hours. She has 2 canine doggie brothers in her foster home and is learning how to be part of a pack, but she could also be an only dog. Introductions to new dogs should be done slowly. We know she is a super smart girl as she is not interested in chasing the chickens at her foster home - she knows they are twice her size! Cats are an unknown, but we bet the same rule will apply.
Bún would do best in a home without small children (under 12) and would be fine as an only dog. She is a perfect option for a Senior that still enjoys walks but would like a companion to snuggle with and love for the rest of her life. Bún is spayed, up-to-date on all shots, microchipped, and heartworm tested. She would love to be in her Furrever home for Christmas!
Because home visits are required, NMAF dogs cannot be adopted out of the greater Albuquerque / Santa Fe area.
