This little cutie-pie came to NMAF by way of the city shelter. Found as a stray, she went out to city foster care quickly but did not work out. We learned from that experience that she does not handle small children (<7) well (she will bite) nor dominant female dogs. Now at NMAF, she is thriving in her new foster home as we continue to learn more about this little ball of fluff everyday. She is some form of Yorkie mix - perhaps a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie) or Yorkie-Poo or Yorkie-Russel. Her coat is more wiry than silky and having a "bad hair day" should be her motto everyday! She is very people oriented, will sit on your lap, lay her head on your chest and look up at you as if to say "thank you", or maybe it's "what's for dinner?". She has a personality larger than she is (a petite 10 pounds) and has done very well with all the dogs in her current foster home. She has already made a special friend of a little male Doxie in the household as long as he does not get too "fresh". She let him know right off that noses in places they should not be is not acceptable. Once he learned the rules, they have gotten along famously. We suspect she is more male-oriented so her new home should have a male, not female dog, or we believe she can be an only dog, perhaps for a nice, but still active, retired couple. She enjoys toys, is eating and sleeping in a crate. No children under 7 (or visiting grandchildren) as she has shown she does not like them. Cats are an unknown. She is up-to-date on all shots, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm tested (neg). She is ready for her new life! Are you ready for her?
