Sweet, friendly Hunter, ready to romp.
Hunter was a five-month-old kitten when he was adopted in 2007. Thirteen years later, he was found limping and injured in someone's front yard and was picked up by Albuquerque Animal Welfare. Thank goodness he had a microchip that led him back to NMAF. His adopter had disappeared, leaving no forwarding address. Hunter was taken into NMAF foster care where he is now being nursed back to health.
Hunter loves human companionship and follows his human friends around like a puppy, despite the irksome injury to his hindquarters that causes him to lurch and slide his back legs much of the time when he walks. He has no fractures or broken bones. His condition seems to be improving every day. He jumps onto the bed and leaps into his tall cat tree to take a snooze. (It's impossible to get a picture of this because the instant he sees a human, he's up and headed in their direction!)
Hunter is a happy cat with a positive outlook. Wiggly ribbons and parachute cords are some of his favorite toys. He uses his litter box and scratching posts without fail.
He is on a diet to lose a few of those extra pounds. Hunter is ready for a caring new foster home and can be adopted at the end of April.
Hunter has a brave heart and a resilient spirit. He's ready to share his life and tender love with a devoted family.
