Luna came to NMAF before she was even born with her Siberian Husky mom, Juneau, who came from the Bernalillo County Animal Care Shelter in April 2017 and was found to be expecting!! Luna (then named Spice) was part of a litter of 4, all born healthy and beautiful in early May 2017. Luna and her siblings were adopted quickly as they were all gorgeous, roly-poly pups (see her pictures below). Alas, she has been returned to NMAF due to allergies developed in her family and is seeking a new Forever Home. At approximately 60 pounds, she is still a wonderfully beautiful girl with one blue eye, one brown, and 4 white socks that show off her pretty brown/black coat.

Luna is a goofy girl with a high energy level and needs an owner who is experienced with dog training and handling her type of personality. She would benefit from more class time with other dogs and, in return, she can become a loyal and loving companion. She likes the company of other playful male dogs near her own size, but since she was raised as an only dog and did not get much canine socialization, she is still learning proper dog-dog etiquette, but males near her size seem to be fine. She is a great hiker and loves to be outdoors as much as possible, enjoying lakes & mountains equally.

Luna would do best in a home with a large back yard to romp in, maybe another male playful dog, and an active owner that can give her the exercise she craves and structure she needs. Small children or cats are not a match. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. She is crate trained and house-trained and loves, loves, loves her chew toys, though they don't last long under her arduous attention. She would be a great candidate for a dog toy company to test their product's longevity! Ready, set, go Luna!

Because home visits are required, NMAF dogs cannot be adopted out of the greater Albuquerque / Santa Fe area.
