Contact Kate at kmolsbe@gmail.com for more information about Kayla.
Kayla came to NMAF as an owner surrender when her mom suddenly passed away. She and doggie sister, Hannah, were 2 of 6 dogs needing to be rehomed as a result. Hannah will remain with her new foster, but we are seeking a new home for Kayla. Her foster mom, Karon, writes this about Kayla:
"I love this dog. She is so good, well-behaved, happy, and gets along with everyone. Just started testing with the cat. Will have to see on that one. (Update: kitty testing is continuing and doing well.) She can be contained in a kennel (don't want to pull out my huge crate again as it is packed away, so can't speak to a crate, but she won't need a crate), but no problem leaving her in a kennel or garage if I leave. She figured out the doggie door after watching Hannah a few times. Comes at a run when called with a big grin on her face. Not pushy, just all in all a great girl."
Kayla has some stiffness in her hind end so NMAF will have that evaluated, and she is already on a joint supplement. She is up-to-date on shots and microchipped. When she came to her first home from Animal Humane in 2013, she was touted as a sweet and friendly dog - which she still is today!
If you are interested in meeting Kayla, a visit can be set up. We are asking potential adopters to submit an application for review first. There is no commitment or guarantee for adoption. Please send it to the person listed above for review and someone will get back to you within 24 hours.
Because home visits are required, NMAF dogs cannot be adopted out of the greater Albuquerque / Santa Fe area.
