This sweet girl has a luxating patella of the left, hind leg and will be going through surgery on April 14. New Mexico Animal Friends will cover all costs for the surgery. At this time, she is fully functional, and you wouldn't even know that she has an injury except that she does not put weight on her left, hind leg at all times.
We will adopt her out to the right home at this time but will work closely with the adopter while getting her through the surgery and the rehab. This will require a special person that has a place in their heart and their life to go through this with Lola. She is a really special girl and well worth it.
Rehab will consist of slow, leashed walks of increasing length over an 8 week period of time. The first week of walking is simply going outside to use the potty 5-6 times a day. From there, the length of the walks grow until she is walking around the block by week 7 and 8.
Lola enjoys other dogs and loves people. She is instantly friendly and loves to cuddle. She loves to nest in her crate and will dig herself a tunnel through her fluffy blanket.
