Papasan, which is a venerable term of respect used in East Asia for an older gentleman, came to NMAF after he took ill and his family did not want to, or could not afford to, get medical care for him so instead took him to the shelter where he received everything he needed and is now doing oh-so well. Fabulous NMAF foster, Andrea, spotted him and we were able to get him out quickly. He was given all his shots, neutered, had a dental and a full set of bloodwork as well as x-rays of his spine and hips while at the shelter - all records will be transferred to his new adopter. Our veterinarian checked him out thoroughly and indicated he is between 12 & 14 yrs. old and is doing really well, all things considered. We have started him on supplements for his arthritis, but he needs no other medications at this point. He is a real trouper and a sweetheart on top of that, is potty trained and uses the doggie door in his foster home. He has a sweet and loving disposition and just wants to be someone's shadow all day. For the right senior-loving family, he would be an excellent companion and promises to give the remainder of his years and heart to them!
