Precious - Adopted!

When we first placed Precious on our website, she was new to NMAF. Previously used as a breeding mom with little training or human contact, the key word of Chapter One was “learning”. What a difference a month makes!

Precious has been a fast learner. She is now house trained as well as crate trained. Her self-confidence has increased immensely. Happy and trusting, she expects people to treat her with the same affection she shows them. Thunder is still a problem; but other loud noises no longer cause anxiety. The outside world of brushes and trees continue to rouse her curiosity. An energetic athlete, she takes stairs two at a time and walks a mile every morning. (She wants to do more.) She loves to run in the grass but hasn’t yet figured out that toy balls are made to be chased.

About 3 years old, probably a Maltese cross, Precious loves to cuddle but is content to sit on her bed or favorite chair if her person has other things to do. As an added bonus, she doesn’t shed.

Precious is still learning. She can be mischievous and will test house rules, so vigilance and gentle firmness might be necessary. Walking on leash in a straight line without pulling is boring so will require more practice. We have no information about Precious and cats. She gets along with most small dogs (see video) but medium and large dogs provoke an initial negative reaction.
