Smiley - Adopted!

Smiley is a 3-year old, neutered male Hound (possibly Foxhound) mix. Smiley and his sister were rescued from the Las Vegas pound when a local rancher turned them in because he could no longer afford to feed the ranch dogs. Smiley’s sister was very shy and was at risk for euthanasia, so both dogs were rescued. The little girl has been adopted.

Smiley is an obedient, easy going, appropriately active, happy dog with a very outgoing, affectionate personality. However he is not needy. He is wonderful with children. Smiley gets along very well with female dogs and has helped us raise many younger dogs and puppies,. Because he spent his first two years with his sister, Smiley especially loves little sister type dogs. He is not fond of other male dogs unless they are very laid back, and he also needs to be in a home without cats. He enjoys adoption clinics, lying quietly on his side for hours as he soaks up all the attention the volunteers will give him. He is calm, almost lazy inside the house and never bothers anything. . He is house-trained and uses a doggie door.

This guy’s wonderful personality wins over people wherever he goes. His biggest adoption challenge is that he is a climber. He climbs trees and will make himself comfortable while he uses them for a lookout. Unfortunately he also uses trees near a fenceline to climb up and then over the fence. He can climb wire fences even if there is no handy tree so will need extra secure wall fencing.

Smiley travels well in the car and enjoys lots of house time. . He has been looking for love and a forever family for a long time and yet, it’s hard to understand why since he isa wonderful handsome companion with a perpetual grin. ! His large expressive eyes are searching for YOU.
