Katie is a compact purr machine. When you pick her up you think she’s a little thing, but you will be surprised how solid and athletic she feels. There is something very satisfying about the way she feels in your arms. In this case you get a lot of personality packed in to that beautiful little tortoise shell package. She loves to take her cute little orange paws to good observation points where she observes her world.
A little on the mischievous side, Katie sometimes plays a sort of hide and seek game when you start talking to her, staying just out of reach until she finally decides she’s ready for some cuddling. However, once she is ready, she goes in to her purr mode, becomes very sociable, and enjoys a backwards ruffling and scratching of her neck hair. If you are working on your computer she will readily jump up to help and carry on commentary while you try to not pay attention to her. She can be quite talkative at times but not in any annoying way. She is confident around dogs and senses which ones are cat-friendly but gives a wide berth to any that are not. Katie likes to explore and find nooks and crannies to check out.
Katie was born in 2010 and has been a house kitty since then. She was adopted as a kitten by her New Mexico Animal Friends foster mom who became smitten with her. Due to family health issues, Katie has again become available for adoption. Because this kitty has been in a loving home since kitten hood, she is well socialized with no behavior issues, and she gets along with other kitties. Katie may take a week or so to warm up, but when she does, she will reward you with some friendly talk and will turn on her purr machine.
