BFF! TiggerBear will be your Best Friend Forever. TiggerBear is a spayed female, 3-4yrs old, TerrierX, small-medium size weighing ~18.5lbs, with a mostly black coat that with a closer look reveals a multiple of colors (white, brown, tan). Recently rescued from the ABQ East Side Shelter, TiggerBear is an exceptional dog; she was surrendered by her family, spent some time in the city shelter, and then came to NMAF after a plea from the city to help relieve overcrowding. She is housebroken, kennel trained, demonstrates good manners, and understands commands. To date, there are no bad habits to report or behaviors that need correction.
TiggerBear has embraced her foster family and is showering her new brothers and sisters with lots of love. She shares her foster home with three dogs, three cats, and two humans. To the amazement of us all, she just loves to be with the pack. TiggerBear is quiet and loving in the mornings, playful throughout the day, and after dining with her pals, at night she enjoys chewing a bone or just laying on the floor and being petted.
TiggerBear is good on the leash staying close to you, responding to commands, and attentive to your body language that she picks up through the leash. She travels well and is very calm in the car; placed in the back seat, she sits and watches the view without whining, barking, or being overly active. Although TiggerBear does not live with children, at the adoption clinics she is sweet to the little ones seeking to pet her, and greets all children with gentle tail wagging and nudges for pets.
If you are looking for a companion that can keep up with active lifestyles, or one who enjoys stopping to smell the flowers, TiggerBear is the dog who will be happy in any family who includes her in their daily activities. Let her into your heart and you won’t let her go…she is a dog who adores her humans!
