Lara - Adopted
Female
Brown Tabby, Domestic Shorthair
Born 7/2010
After giving birth to a litter of kittens in a hoarder’s home, Lara and her offspring wound up at Albuquerque Animal Welfare. Once the kittens were adopted, AAW asked NMAF to take Lara in so she could rest and recuperate physically and emotionally in a foster home. She is thriving now, eating a little too well (maybe to make up for her prior deprivation), and she has excellent house manners, scratching-post and litter-box etiquette.
Lara is a civilized cat, loves to be stroked, and seems to gravitate toward the eldest cat in the house as her favorite furry friend. She would also love to snuggle up with you and her fellow kitty friend on a cold winter’s night. She has suffered what appears to be stress-induced over-grooming and skin irritation issues, and we are monitoring her progress. She is currently testing a hypoallergenic diet to see if it helps her skin and fur.
Lara is patiently awaiting her lifelong family and promises to be a faithful companion.
